showing say.. only the five latest entries on my blog?

    The five is just a random number, but is there a method that will
    * show a certain number of latest entries on my main page
    * still allow ALL entries to be viewable when using NiceArchives

    Currently, I’m using the option in the WP admin panel under Options>>Reading.

    However, that also makes only five entries show up in my archives. But I want ALL of my past entries listed in my archives.

    I hope I’m speaking in understandable english.. Thanks in advance if you can help.

    Thanks, that wasn’t exactly what I was looking for though xD
    But I’ve installed it nonetheless.

    I’m wondering… is this the plugin used to get a “recent comments” list? Such as on http://beccary.com ?

    You can define how many posts are shown on your main page by going to your admin panel, Options > Reading > and set the number of posts to show at whatever you like.

    I think he knows that you can use that option to set how many posts on the front page are displayed; however, he doesn’t want that option to affect how many posts are displayed on an archive link. For example, five posts on the front page are displayed, but for category “General” all the posts in that category are displayed.

    I have installed the perpage plugin, and it doesn’t do things differently from the option in the admin panel.

    If I set the “$posts_per[‘home’]” to 10, the 10 latest entries show up on my blog. All is well. But then, when I go to my archives page (PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM USING NICEARCHIVES), only the 10 latest entries are shown.

    Maybe my original post wasn’t vey clear.

    Well, in the plugin I referred to I see this:
    Description: Change the number of posts per page displayed for different page types.
    and further down:
    $posts_per[‘month’] = 10;
    Change that to 999 🙂
    (btw, I am not using this plugin, just found it on the forum…)
