    Hey guys!

I have a little question. I am using the latest version of WordPress and I have it installed in a folder, /nuntiare. Now I want to show the first part of the latest post on my blog on my homepage, which is outside the folder /nuntiare.

So, I have a complete blog set up in /nuntiare, I have a custom made template (which is the same as the looks of the rest of my site). This is all good.
What I want is on my homepage, http://www.flamingotrain.com, to show the first part of my latest post (like an excerpt?) I have posted, with a link under that (something like [proceed to weblog ยป]).

Is there a way to do this, and if there is, how can I do this or where can I find a clear explanation on how to do this?

    Thanks alot in advance.

I dont know if there is a plugin for your problem, so I think you have to code a little function on your own.

yes you can do that assuming that your index page ends in .php .. ie, its called index.php or something like that..

Read this thread, it provides an example:

the excerpt is displayed using the_excerpt
