   Hey everyone, quick question here:

   I'd like my front page to show only the most recent post, then below it -- instead of showing the next 10 or so full posts -- I want it to show the next 9 (or so) posts as titles *only*. So the reader can click through and read the full articles from there if they want.

   Is this something I'll need a plugin for? Does it have to do with my theme?

   Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction....Thanks!

   Yes.
   You may want to try to search for something like "display first/last post differently" and similar search phrases.

   Basically, you will need to alter the default Loop to do what you want.
