Hello, all Tiny Forge theme users!

It would be very interesting to see your adaptation of Tiny Forge theme, or perhaps you even made a child theme for it :)

    Don't be shy!

It's a cool theme but how to add my logo to the upper left?

It doesn't have this option yet, but I'll check if it would be possible to add it ;)

Edit: I added some helpful resources:

From version 1.3 theme has an option to upload custom logo via Theme Customizer (Admin Panel Menu > Appearance > Customize). I recommend to size its height to 85px.

New version should be approved in a day or two ;)

Rogstamp, thanks for your good word :)

Nice site, I always "monitor" users sites to see the development progress and in many cases I would see thing or two that I have to improve in Tiny Forge theme :)

Sorry to bother. I have Googled with no luck. How can I remove tags and categories below each post?
    http://www.seizemysoul.com

I haven't changed much. It's a good theme. I will change some colors when I get back home from vacation.

Forget my last post. I figured it out. Thanks.

If it would be my will I would have removed tags and categories from the archive pages and index page because I like clean look, but I had to keep them in order to pass theme evaluation. It is required to have a permalink even if the article doesn't have the title. In this case permalink would be the date in the meta section.

Instead I added optional code in content.php or style.css if you don't feel strong editing php - search for Tip30 .

I've built a sample site using Tiny Forge to show my clients.

If your clients and any of their customers or visitors use IE8, you might want to know the logo, title and tag line are not showing and the footer images and text are stacked at bottom-left with the word "We" at the top-right corner of the second image.

I have to look at css/ie.css, most likely it is possible to make some adjustments. Overall I don't even have IE8 on any of my PCs, will have to use virtual Windows XP machine.

I do not think it necessary to make everything work in IE8, so either way is fine as long as those who might care are aware!

Having just temporarily activated Version 1.4.1 on my sandbox site to have a look, it seems the default Tiny Forge does not have the IE8 problem I had mentioned. Also, I am glad to see Tiny Forge and the Standard Widget Extensions plugin for the WordPress Twenties seem to get along fairly well:

@Tomas Mackevicius: This forum is not appropriate for showcasing sites. If you wish to start such a topic, please use the Your WordPress forum.

@esmi sorry, but I disagree with this one ;)

Every theme should have such topic on their support forum. How users of this particular theme would find out others who are using it? In one place? Such topic let's theme users see other implementations, share the moding ideas, discuss things. And the topic name is not trivial, everyone understands that it is related to this particular theme.

If you're not happy with word "showcase", you can change it to other one, eg. "Discuss" ;)

    Thank you!

    @Collar City Brownstone - nice site ;)

I see you got google fonts working :)

  20. @esmi sorry, but I disagree with this one ;)

Yeah... no sorry but Esmi's right on target. ;)

See here's the thing: these are support forums. They are not for showcasing your theme or showing off what your users can do with your theme. That's not support that's marketing and really isn't why this dedicated sub-forum exists. They're coming here for support; users can and should show off their sites in the Your WordPress section.

    http://wordpress.org/support/forum/your-wordpress

If you want to post a topic in this dedicated theme sub-forum and invite people to post their work on your site (not on WordPress.ORG) and make that topic sticky then that will be fine (I think anyways). But that topic will be closed because posting such showcases in these forums is not the right place for that.

Edit: If you can provide that link to an external site please do. If not then this topic will be closed without that link.

    Sure, please add this link:

Interesting, but how can I make the topic sticky? (not this one, but I will prepare one in the future)

  22. Interesting, but how can I make the topic sticky? (not this one, but I will prepare one in the future)

It's funny you should ask! ;)

OK not really funny. If you look on the right there should be a "Make this topic sticky" link. If there isn't let one of the moderators know and we'll see if one of us can make it sticky in your sub-forum.

I know plugin authors can and do but to be honest I'm less sure about theme sub-forums.

    It's not funny indeed :D

I don't have this link, just a "Add this topic to your favorites" link.

Perhaps this should be fixed on a grand-scale, so every theme developer had this right?

  24. I've just emailed my fellow collaborators (mods) and have come to the conclusion that the dedicated theme sub-forums lack the sticky bit.

I've escalated this but I do not believe my idea of sticky will work in this case. That's a shame as I think that would have worked out well...

Can you update the verbiage on your theme page?

    http://wordpress.org/themes/tiny-forge

Putting a showcase invitation there (I think) would be acceptable.

If they will not give theme developers sticky rights, then it's really some kind of discrimination :-/

Sure, I will update the description. Thank you!

Should we open separate ticket for the sticky rights and ask all other theme devs? Little bit of community pressure always helps :)

I agree with you that it is unfortunate but I don't think it's quite like that... ;)

I think that's a very good idea but let I'll ask around for where best place for you to raise that ticket. It would not surprise me at all if there is one already. :)

    Searched for:

and similar ones, but could not find anything related.

You could raise this as a ticket but it is a known issue and it is on the ToDo list already.

OK, thank you Esmi! Will wait then.

That could be quite a wait. It's a really, really, long ToDo list.

Is there nowhere on your site where you could create a showcase resource for your theme? That's what we've done with the eShop plugin.
