Show overflow from post

How can I get a pop up in my post to show even when it overflows outside the post content? See example: http://www.theamazingagingmind.com/?p=608&preview=true
The image gets cut off by the header section. I tried increasing the z-index on the pop up to 10000 and it still doesn’t help. Where do I disable an overflow block?
