   I've heard of WP-Since Last Visit plugin from Alex King, but his has not been updated and claimed to cause CPUhog. Is there any better plugin around here?

   May not do quite what you want, but here's a plugin for showing comments the visitor hasn't read yet:

   Works great. You can put it in the sidebar, and also set up little icons on the comments themselves to show if they've been read by the visitor or not.
