I have enabled comments every place I can find the option to do so: the Discussion settings under the Settings menu, the Screen Options in the upper right of the Blog page, each Post and the Posts page in general.
What I DO have is a small icon to the right of the blog post title. It seems to be a counter for how many comments have been made. If I click that I can leave a comment, then the invitation to comment further will appear below where I wanted it in the first place.
I am not afraid to play with the Editor or add/subtract HTML code, but I am not “expert” at it either.
If anyone has some suggestions I sure would love to hear them.

I am having trouble displaying the field below my blog posts for visitors to leave comments.
I have a static home page. The blog page is here
