   I need to make 5 websites that share the same blog but each have a differnet theme and pages. As far as I can tell MU can do this, right?

   What i cannot find however is if it will be possible to just show articles and links from specific categories and specific tags on each domain?

   The problem I am trying to solve is that some articles need to show up on only one website, while others may be read/seen from two or more.

   Yes, MU can do this.

   Each site will show it's own posts, with its own tags and categories.

   You can use plugins to post to multiple sites, but you really shouldn't, since that will dillute your SEO.
