I think this is my first post. If not, it's the first in years—may have posted when I first started w/ WP several years back. I've been at a job that used DNN *puke* for the past 3 years but am now doing freelance and most of the jobs I'm getting are using WP.
Now, to the problem. I have a template I've been customizing that has a sweet little featured slider and nice looking thumbnails beneath it of all posts (and subsequent pagination).
I'm trying to build a page that has the same thing but 1) doesn't have the featured slider and 2) allows more than just 6 posts before paginating.
I've copied the code from that index page over to a Showall templated but it does no good. The only post it shows is one with the name of the page I'm on.
Here's the actual context: it's for a local car salesman. The homepage would be great to have the featured slider show up with a few car choices beneath (he'll post new vehicles via posts) that they can paginate through if they want. But, there will also be a "Cars for Sale" page that should just fill up with all the posts.
The archive template doesn't do any good, my copied code doesn't work, etc. What am I missing? I've googled the crap out of the issues the past day or two and have tried various options, none of which got me what I needed.
