    I should just give up, shouldn't I? :P

I did everything I thought I was supposed to do to install shortstat, but I'm getting:

The necessary tables could not be created. I know, I know, this isn't a very helpful error message...

    as an error.

I created a table and filled in everything (I thought) correctly, but clearly not. What do you need to know so's I can get some help? Again. :P

You have to create two tables. Are you using the newest version?

Did you use the install script or do it manually?

I used Dreamweaver to edit and then uploaded everything. Then I plugged in http://www.katehackett.com/shortstat/_install.php and ...poof, errorcity.

if you could edit _install.php and above "echo "The necessary tables could not be created. I know, I know, this isn't a very helpful error message...";"
add "print mysql_error();" it will give you a more helpfully error message.
