Hi,
I just joined WP and hosting it on my server. It seems pretty self explanatory for most issues I was having but I still need a little help.
My blog: http://www.mycareerinsider.com is about career information aimed to highschool and college students (i just started and is totally under construction. the 2 posts are just to work out some layout preferences i have)
My problem is the information I will be providing is way to long and would like to have it maybe 3 or so paragraphs then have a link to "read more"
Is that something I have to do on my own or is it a theme issue?
Thanks,

I'm having a similar issue.
I ran across this tutorial:
http://incoherentbabble.com/2007/06/08/changing-the-length-of-the_excerpt-in-wordpress/
but it's not working for me. Changing the value in the core file doesn't work for me either. I have it set to show a summary and not the full text in the settings as well.
Any ideas?

Are there any themes that have this built in? I am having trouble with this.
I have summary checked on my sites but none (all using different themes, but in test of default theme I get the same results) will show a summary on the front page. Feeds show as summary, but not the front page. Trying the Excerpt gives similar, in fact it won't show at all.
Is there a plug in that will force the front page to show only a short summary?
