Support » Fixing WordPress » Shortcut access key in HTML editor

  • Hi all,
Im using TinyMCE, usually not as WYSIWYG, but I write directly HTML. On this page http://codex.wordpress.org/Quicktags_API is a very nice description how to add a new button to the HTML editor. I did it, it works fine. BUT I would like to use the shortcut access key for this button and I dont know how to use it.

To be clear – I know how to define the shortcut access key for the new button. But the problem is, how to use it. I added button for nonbreakable space (& nbsp;) and the shortcut access key was ‘s’. What should I press (during the typing)? I tried <alt>-s, <ctrl>-s… etc. but no success. Whats wrong?

By the way – this problem probably exists for all the buttons in my HTML editor; on the other hand – in WYSIWYG shortcut access keys work! Pressing <ctrl>-b makes bold text – but only in WYSIWYG.

    Any idea?
