  • Hi there,

    If the shortcode is being written to the page, the plugin would seem to be deactivated. With GDE activated and a proper shortcode, these are the only possible outcomes:

    * the viewer displays
    * the download link displays (file is too large to embed)
    * an error message displays (some error occurred)
    * nothing displays at all (the error is hidden in HTML comments per setting, or the browser cache needs to be cleared)

    Displaying its own shortcode isn’t possible under normal use unless the plugin is deactivated, or perhaps your theme is stripping them for some reason. If you’re sure it’s activated and the shortcode is clean (no hidden HTML in it, etc – check the HTML editor, not just the visual), try switching momentarily to one of the WP default themes to see if that resolves the problem.

    Thanks

    Kevin

    Hello,
    thanks for your reply.
    The shortcode is ok, I had already checked the html code. The plugin is activated.
    Unfortunately it would be a big issue for me to switch to a default theme right now. Please let me know if I can do anything useful for debug purpose.

    Unfortunately, since you have already tried disabling other plugins, the theme is the only possible culprit I can think of that could interfere with the shortcode.

    You could try installing another plugin that relies on shortcodes just to see if all shortcodes are affected. That would again point to some outside interference but wouldn’t necessarily solve the issue.

    It’s possible your WP install itself is incomplete or corrupted, but I highly doubt this.

    Hello Davis, sorry for my late answer. There was a bad misconfiguration of the WP install. Now everything is working fine. Thanks and bear with me for troubling you.

    Rick

    Glad it’s working now!
