Shopping Cart Selection

    So I am trying to figure out what free/pay cart shopping cart the WordPress community would recommend for the following situation:

    • Need the ability to add custom criteria to a product. We have a product where a user can select a date, time and type for a course.
    • Before a user makes a purchase they are required to create an account, similar to Ebay/Amazon. In effect, creating a username and password is part of the purchase process.
    • A user can view their receipt directly in their account, as well as the defacto after their purchase.
    • A user can download the requirements related to their purchase, as one would with a digital download, in their account.
    • Pages that would be fitted into an account area (through whatever wp_private or mechanism) can be created at whim.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated. If this is not possible, meaning with minimal wp modification, then unfortunately, I have to move to Drupal :(.

    You would be better off installing and trialling the carts yourself to see which best suits your needs.

    As I wrote eShop though, I can answer some of these:
    1 – possibly, depends on how you want the info – but eShop can have dropdowns associated with an item.
    2 – almost – an account can be created if they don’t have one when they checkout
    3 – yes
    4 – yes
    5 – not handled by eShop
