Hi, I’ve got my WP Simple PayPal shopping cart installed and working great… except, since I’ve been running caching plugins – they seem to be stripping out the cart when users navigate around the site.

    The two plugins are:
    Hyper Cache Extended 1.1.0
    DB Cache Reloaded Fix

I’ve read this post, which has a fix for WP Super Cache plugin, but given the recent feedback on WP Super Cache – I was reluctant to install it, and my host suggested the plugins above as most compatible with their server.

Are these plugs incompatible with the WP Simple Shopping Cart, or is there a workaround I can try?

edit: It may have been a temporary problem, since the cart seems to be working properly now (and I thought it was ok when the site went live). Any chance someone can have a go from a fresh PC to see if it’s all good now (ie, the sidebar cart, and cart page keep the cart active while navigating the site)? ops, it’s http://www.geelongkites.com.au

Hi goshenw, the following plugins two plugins you mentioned have not been updated for a long time. I would not use them for security and stability reasons.

    The two plugins you use:
Hyper Cache Extended 1.1.0 Compatible up to: 3.5.0 Last Updated:2013-1-5

DB Cache Reloaded Fix Compatible up to: 3.4.2 Last Updated: 2012-6-14

Are you still running WordPress 3.6? If you are I would upgrade to WordPress 3.8.1 as soon as possible.

Once you have addressed all of the above I am certain the plugin will function correctly unless of course there are other issues on your website like out dated plugins or theme.

Let me know if the above helps you.

    Kind regards

I only got my site running a few weeks ago, and wanted to ensure it was all stable before I started updating everything – but yes, I intend to look at upgrading to 3.8.1 very soon, and whatever plugins have updates too.

Hi that is good to hear 🙂

The cache plugins that you are using, I would replace them. They are out of date and have not been supported for a while.

One of my rules is to stop using or replace plugins when the developers don’t support the plugin anymore. I only keep using the plugin if someone has supplied a patch, it is stable with the latest WordPress version and there are no security vulnerabilities.

    My humble opinion.

    Kind regards
