I had a developer try to add a wordpress shopping cart on my site but they were unable to do so. The second developer said that there are shopping cart plugins already on my site.. obviously they do not work.
Perhaps a shopping cart plugin will not work because I have a custom design? I'm not sure how to get this to work so I can take off the paypal buttons I have.
Can someone help me with this?
thanks

Highly unlikely. I don't any two of the sites listed on http://quirm.net/eshop-sites/ have similar designs and some (like http://www.fudgeluscious.com/) are using highly customised, or bespoke, themes.
thanks, but how do I get this to work or why can't anyone get it to work?
Take a look at the PHPurchase WordPress Shopping Cart plugin http://www.PHPurchase.com
You can sell physical products, digital products, memberships, subscriptions with recurring billing, payment plans, track inventory, etc. It's really easy to use and works with pretty much all WordPress themes. If you have any questions just let me know.
there are free cart plugins, if they aren't working - have you asked the respective developers?
I have wp shopping cart and eshop installed...
which one would be easier to get it to work?
would you know?
also, can this mess up something else on the site??
thanks
I'm biased, I wrote the eShop plugin.
