Sharing a site on MAMP

    Hi. I have wordpress set up locally with MAMP. I just want to share it with specific people (theme designers, to get support). How can I share the site with them over the internet?

    You can only do that if you obtain a domain name for the site.

    You’ll have to tell those specific people your IP address (so that they can access your server without a domain name). Also, your ISP must allow you to run an Internet webserver, and your router (if any) and firewall (if any) must allow the connections. Your Apache config may need to be altered to create a virtual host at your IP address. And if your IP address is allocated dynamically it may change from time to time.

    Thanks Rod. Do I give the people the same URL except my IP address instead of the domain name?
