I have 4 sites under development with WP 2.1 and 2.8. On all of them, when I update a post or page, "Share this Post" is added with email, facebook, twitter, digg, and delicious socail buttons. If I switch to html view, strip the code out and save. The next time I push "update", in visual mode, it adds it back again.
One of the sites in question is iso900-consulting.com, if that helps.
The code looks like this.
<div id="sharepost"><img src="http://www.picturesurf.org/img/shreml.png" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.picturesurf.org/img/shrfb.png" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.picturesurf.org/img/shrtwr.png" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.picturesurf.org/img/shrdig.png" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.picturesurf.org/img/shrdel.png" alt="" /></div>
I do not have any plugins or widgets in operation and am using the default theme. I have searched the Forums but could not find any relative information.
Any help is appreciated.
any work arounds? this is annoying
It might be dependent on theme with such action defined in functions.php
Site URL or Theme name?
It's a plugin which automatically adds the sharepost links and images after your content - disable it in Admin Dashboard > Plugins
only one I can think of it being is WP-Pagenavi ~ will continue to look into it.
Nope wasn't pagenavi ~ Seems like it's something written into 2.8.2 just to aggravate me. Pagenavi was deactivated and it STILL tried to put it in my post.
They're not part of 2.8, they're added by a plugin and/or modifications in your theme..
Plugins do some times write information to the database, so it may not necessarily mean it is an active plugin.. perhaps even one that was enabled and wrote some new info to the DB.. (only guessing)..
Mercime had given you the answer already...
;)
Well it's a fresh install of 2.8.1 then upgraded to 2.8.2 of only the changed files (thanks again Lester). And I didn't put any social plugins yet (that I know of) /shrug
Thanks for your comments though... If I ever figure out what it is or where it came from, I'll shake my fist at them :)
I'm happy to say this is RESOLVED and had NOTHING to do with WordPress :/
Don't install 'picturesurf.org sharebuttons extension' in Firefox.
'picturesurf.org sharebuttons extension' in Firefox.
Whoa, didn't see that coming. Thanks for the warming.
