Hello, I am working on my computer (localhost) on a WordPress homepage for my NGO. Theme: Twentytwelve. I am working on an additional (sub-) navigation on the left side of some specific (!) pages since various days. I tried several things like adding a sidebar, but it does not present a solution to the problem. I have read about conditional tags, but I do not know how to combine this with the menus I have created. I would be so grateful for help!

Do not edit the theme itself. First create a child theme for your changes.

I am already working with a child theme. Now I found this.
The situation described seems to be similar to what I want to do, but I cannot get it working. Could anybody please explain to a newbie what exactly to put where? Thanks for any comments!

    ow I found this.

I'm sorry but I do not speak German. Perhaps you could summarise it?

You are right, ofcourse, sorry! There is however a code if you scroll down which is in English. I tried to use it get an additional (sub-) navigation on the left side of some specific pages. Sadly, also after reading linked pages, I don't understand the description of where to put which names namely the one of the page (or what is it with url or slug) and the one of the menu.
