Admin Menu Editor
Setup each site then turn off option? (7 posts)

How do I setup each site before I turn off the menus?

I am creating the site, going in and setting it up, then turning off almost all the menus.
Right now I create the site, then go into the site to set it up and the menus are already gone.

    Thoughts?

Are you talking about a multisite network? If so, you need to activate the plugin separately on each site (as opposed to network activation and mu-plugins). This will let you use a different configuration on each site and menus won't start out hidden.

So, put it in plugins and not mu-plugins?

(lol I work with this plugin about once a week. If I could just stick with it I'd have it figured out by now lol)

    Yes, put it in /wp-content/plugins.

OH I just realized something. I can login to any of the sites off the main site as the Super Admin and see all the menus, can't I?

That's the part I've been missing!

After I restrict the menus from admin on down, I'll still be able to go in and see the menus and edit them as needed?

Sure, as long as you're logged in as the Super Admin you will be able to edit the menus.
