Thanks!
a bug with the Cycle Shortcode Settings
Admittedly, I didn’t test that scroll option sufficiently. It was listed as an option on that jQuery plugin’s documentation so I merely added it to Strong’s options.
Long story short:
I will work on this but there are some concurrent issues that may mean finding another slider plugin. I want to take the time to find the best solution going forward. “Fade” will have to suffice for now.
Long story:
The Cycle plugin was part of the original fork that became Strong. It’s popular but as it was designed for images it has more features than we need. It also has some edge-case bugs and conflicts. For instance, I can’t get Scroll to work using the documented setting, but if I use another setting it works. Since the scroll was designed for images, it does not work well with text – it seems to scroll each individual <div> and <p> instead of smoothly scrolling the entire containing block.
So I think the better approach is to either (a) find a more suitable jQuery content slider plugin, or (b) customize Cycle to work better. I’m leaning towards (b) but I’m open to recommendations.
another setting in to hide the post titles
This is a good idea and I hide them in CSS as you’ve done. I’m working on an update (1.7) that allows selecting the client fields below the testimonial. I will try to add an option for the title; if not in this update then in the next minor update.
Thanks Chris, perfect answers. I will continue using your plugin as the scroll effect was only a “want” rather than a “need”.

I’ve used FlexSlider in a few projects, might be a possible solution? It has both the “fade” and “slide” options that seem to work well.
Looking forward to the updates.
