I have an interesting problem. I’m trying to set up a WordPress site at GoDaddy, but their default installation uses the intended domain name and embeds it into the database installation process. In my case, I haven’t yet moved the domain because the site is still under development. So the WordPress installation needs to use the dedicated IP address we are using for testing.

Normally I could log into the existing domain name manager and create a redirect for the blog directory, but that’s not possible in this case.

I tried manually installing WordPress but when I try to login it can’t establish a connection to a database. Is there an administration file I can use to link a manually created database to WordPress? Can someone help?

If you can’t establish a connection to an existing db, it will be due to restrictions at GoDaddy rather than anything in WP. Have you tried contacting them about this?
