Where do I paste the Google Analytics code? And on what page? I just want to track my index(first) page for now.

Well I have developed a plugin called Google Analyticator, which will automatically add the necessary code to track your site. At the moment it track every page, and not just the index.

Now if you're inserting your code manually it depends on your theme. What's your theme?

You know forget it that is what I want baby. How come the boys here at wordpress haven't added it to the website. I searched and only one hit came up about Google Analytics.
    Thanks

I put this plug-in on my site (thanks for making this easy!!) and I added my uaccount info but if I do a View Source on my main page I don't see the code? Will I see it? Just curious. Google says they don't see the code on my site but then I have also heard that google says that function on their site isn't 100% yet.

I did this plugin, but google wont verify it:
    Profile Name: whootah.com
    Website URL: http://whootah.com

    Tracking Unknown
The Google Analytics tracking code has not been detected on your website's home page. For Analytics to function, you or your web administrator must add the code to each page of your website.

Your site looks like it's setup correctly, you just need to give google some time. I just left my changes in there and eventually (I checked about 8 hours later), google figured it out.

It took about 24 hours for them to check mine (poor documentation on Google's part) but it only checks about every 24hrs, too. I still like http://www.statcounter.com for more instant results but I'll give it time to build up a record of visits before making final judgment.

Do you guys see a breakdown of your pages content too?
I only see the wordpress main url when I check about the content. No listing of special named pages or menupoints.

If you're talking about on Google Analytic's content page, I do see other pages besides my main URL.

I guess I should see the code when I view the source of the page? I've installed and enabled, and entered my UA number. Searching for the text UA is not found in the source code. Have I done something wrong?

I see the code just fine on your site. Have you disabled admin logging? If you have you won't see the code unless you're logged out.

    dont set up google analytics.
That rubbish makes that this page here for example often hangs, stops loading.
I had it this morning a couple of times.

I saw in the statusbar google-analytics.....waiting.

Used Google Analyticator on http://www.lepenseur.com 4 days ago but Google still won't verify my site and no statistics are showing up. Am I missing anything?

I have just checked out both of your websites, and the code is appearing just fine. Perhaps Google is not collecting stats on new accounts until they can get the initial people running fine. Just give it a little more time.

I think Google really jumped the gun with the service. Judging from the crappy amounts of updates and the number of websites that have the code, I don't think Google was ready for this. I think they thought that maybe they would only double there user base, but were they wrong! Just about every website I have went to in the past day has the Google code.

About a week ago I joined Google Analytics and registered two websites. Google Analytics recognized one of my website's code then a few hours later could not track/find it. I've tried registering several of my sites and Analytics couldn't find the script for any of them.

I decided to start over and deleted all of my website's from my Google Analytic account and re-enter them. However, now I can find the 'Add Website Profile' link! In the control panel it reads: "To track another website with Analytics, click the 'Add Website Profile' link." Where is it?

You login into Google Analytics and that's it! You currently can't do anything with it.

Am I doing something wrong? Am I not seeing the link? Or, is something wrong with Google Analytics?

It looks as if they have pulled the link. I think the want to get things working correctly for the existing users before they add more.

    I've been sneaky...
Go to the page to add a new user - end of the url reads vid=1351
change the 1351 to 1151 and voila.

However, despite setting this up on Saturday I still have no stats showing...

Yes it is working erratically but remember that it's in beta test.

Google seems to have finally picked up my info from http:/www.lepenseur.com . Thanks a lot Cavemonkey50 for the plugin and most importantly the great support.
