I have installed 2.6 and a theme on my website (Here) I have managed to get the template modified so that only the asides category shows up within the right hand column, however i cannot manage to get the other column and the top post to ignore the Asides category posts. I have tried: cat_ID!=14&showposts='.$top_posts.'&orderby=post_date&order=desc however this did not work and they continued to show up.
