Setting Garbage Collection 24 Hours, What the impact ?

    Hi,

    right now i set the garbage collection set the expired time out to : 24 hours
    and i set the timout on schedule time which on daily basis in every 2 am at night

    now it has been 2 days i received email reported from garbage collection system has no cleaning up any of my content, here is the email look like

    “The WP Super Cache Garbage Collector has now run, deleting 0 files and directories.
    If you want to switch off these emails please see the WP Super Cache Advanced Settings
    page on your blog.”

    as you see above, its no clean up anything on my blog
    can i know how the garbage collection work and what function is it ?
    i assumed the GC was cleaning my old cache in 24 hours than clean up all url that old to be fresh content

    please explanation for people know about this
