Hello iam using wordpress and i need to set permission for a plugin folder to be 755, Iam the admin of the blog but i don't have permission in the cpanel is their a way to do it using php or any other stuff?
I saw this tweak in drupal where you can set permission for folder without accessing cpanel.
Is their a similar module in wordpress?

  2. You need to do it via a file manager program (be it a desktop FTP app, or cPanel's file manager). Your host should have a way you can do that. Ask them.

@ipstenu i need a plugin to change the permission of other plugins folder or even a code to execute is also appreciable.

  4. Yeah, I cannot, in good faith, as a responsible website runner, suggest you do that. The risk of a plugin changing permissions like that is crazy high/

Also, it's not going to work. You cannot install a plugin via the automatic installer if the permissions in the directory are wrong, so how are you going to install any plugin or code I give you?

@ipstenu I have permission to upload a plugin and activate it, i just need to have access to set permission to the plugin folder. i dont have access to the cpanel, what do i do now?

  6. You ask your webhost how they suggest you do it. They usually have a website with docs that tell you how to FTP or SSH into your account so you can do that. THAT is what you need. Ask them. Remember, you're PAYING these people. They should help you.
