The users are not appearing as subscriber by default .I am making setting their roles to subscriber or other role manually(on main site of multi-site installation) by going to admin panel manually for each user .
What should I do If I make default user registrations to get a user role?

They *should be* subscriber by default *IF* they are signing up as just a user, and not a user with a blog.

The users are getting that "Subscriber" role only if they signup for user name and not for blog. What if some one signed up as blog ?

Yep, default behavior.

Then theyld be an administrator of that blog, and *only* that blog. the shoudl still be able to access the main site admin area as a pseudo-subscriber, even though they aren't listed.
works just like it does at wordpress.COM when you sign up as a user there.
