Ok, so I started this blog about a year ago. The site goes to a splash page that then goes to the actual wordpress blog. however, I have decided to change this. I would like to get rid of the splash page and just have the homepage be the the blog.

How do I do this? I don't remember how I set up the splash to begin with, so I have no clue how to get rid of it.

First create a blank Page (put one space in as the title)
Set it to have no parent
Set blog as the Template
set -1 as the Order
remember to save
Then
Go to settings/Reading
Choose: static page
Set Front page to your blank page
don't set posts page to anything
remember to Save
You should now have a small invisible entry on the "home" menu (you can find it by mousing over it)
but when you click on home you will get the blog instead of the default front page.
This is a workaround I found for the theme I am using. Let me know if it works for you,

Im trying to create a wedding website with wordpress. I want the blog aspect so that it can be readily updated but I dont want the blog to be the first page seen when the site is visited. I know wordpress allows creation of secondary pages - is there any way to make one of those pages as the main page? That way I can keep that page static and still keep the blog updated regularly

elDuendeVerde Youir splash page is activated by index.html. I would guess your WordPress in not in the root directory.
Your can either move your WP to the root directory, http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress or you can change your index.html to a redirect looking for index.php
aharami What you wnat is exactly the opposite. You already have a thread. Please don't highjack someone else's.
another way is to go into your hosting account cpanel, vdeck or whatever they use and see if they have a redirection feature. That is what I did.
