Set a Post page as a default home page (5 posts)

I set up 2 categories, both are blog posts. I assigned the categories to the posts. I set up 2 menu tabs: "Home" and "Latest News". When I open the website all blog posts show up as the home page (both categories). When I click on "Home" tab, just the home posts appear and when I click on "Latest News" the latest news blog appears. I want to open the website and only see the home category posts (as the default home page).
Because I am dealing with just posts and no pages, I can't fix this in the "reading" area. my site is: http://withlacoocheegulfpreserve.com

    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks, Jeff

You might try eliminating your "Home" tab and use the Simply Exclude plugin to only show the home category on the home page.

I went to the plugin home page and there may be some compatibility issues.
Have you ever tried Blog-in-Blog plugin?
Have you used "Simply Exclude" and for what purpose?
    Thanks so much for responding,Jeff

I have used both and both work well. I would try Simply Exclude first because it seems simpler to me.
