I am having a problem with my Word Press install. I have narrowed the problem down to the WordPress program. I thought it first it was a server problem. I can get into my site http://www.wilmingtoncoc.com through Local network ok. When I try through the internet I get an error message - Service Unavailable please check back later. I don't have any idea where to look for the problem. A friend told me that something in WordPress is throwing the blog into maintenance

macmikeal, I am having the same trouble. Was logged in and working with a post when I noticed the "save draft" was hanging... I shut off the comp, let it restart thinking that would help. But, nope. I still can't log in. I'm on a friend's subdomain. *Sigh* Going back and try again...
@macmikeal: It's working now, so it was probably just a temporary problem at your hosts' end.

I'm still not having any luck getting logged in to mine. I have a sneaking feeling there is a server problem on the side of my host belonging to my pal, who said she could log in to the server OK. I've been trying since last night, and still, nothing...
If you don't provide a site url. this isn't much anyone can offer. It's also better to start your own topic as your situation (and therefore the solution) could be very different to the original poster's.
