   I am hoping someone can give me an idea of what the server settings should be for 2.6. I have several sites on midphase servers and they function fine with 2.6.3. I just transferred a new site through midphase because the the visual editor was stuck on html view and after trying option I found on these forums, I couldn't resolve it. I thought switching to midphase would work because of the other WP sites working fine on their servers.

   Long story short, visual editor is still stuck in html view. I tried multiple browsers, emptying cache etc. I went so far as to completely wipe out all files, upload fresh WP and created a brand new db. Same issue on a perfectly clean install. :( It has to be a server configuration, right? Any ideas where to go from here?

   This HTML / Visual button error has been around for at least seven months (and more than likey a lot longer).

   I am currently trying everything that people have suggested and am running out of ideas.

   Someone did mention that your host could be Gzip'ing files as they are loaded; as does WP - this causes problems, so you could try to switch off Gzip?

   I am not knowledgeable with servers and .php files so appologies for misinformation.
