Seperating Articles from Posts (2 posts)

Hey, I am at a huge road block and looking for help.

So I run a blog with a static front page, and then I blog, which is more short timely posts on things that are on my mind, in the news, etc.

I also then write articles, which are more timeless, and I would like people to have access to at anytime.

Currently I just toss them in the blog and they get lost very fast.

I tried to set up a new page called Articles, and then add child pages under it.

This is not working well because I will have 50-60 articles, and when you create a child page it just adds a drop down under the articles, which is a mess.

What I would like is for someone to click on articles then be taking to a page that is organized something like this.

    Topic 1
    article
    article
    article

    Topic 2
    article
    article
    article

    Topic 3
    article
    article
    article

How can I do this? I am a WP newb, so baby steps!

    Thanks.

Why not use categories (or even tags) for that and use the Category Widget to provide access to the articles.

If not the consider something like:
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/list-category-posts/
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/postlists/
