   I have a plugin that allows me to post my META description and keyword tags on my individual posts.

   However, one of the reasons I have a miserable page ranking for my domain is because I have no META tags for my home page..

   If I add the "description" tag in the header.php, then it will appear on all pages and probably nuke the tags I have set up for my individual posts.

   HOW, do I add my optimized META tags to the HOMEPAGE only?? Without disturbing the tags on my individual posts??

   If the plugin you are using is All in One SEO, there is a special section at the top of the plugin admin page where you enter the settings for the home page. That is the only place the homepage settings can be changed.
