Separate loops: Most recent post ten more after that.

Hi all! Hopefully someone can give me some advice.

I’d like to have my blog display the full text of my most recent post, then a static image, then the titles and summaries of the next ten posts.

Someone suggested I could do this by using two separate loops. Have any of you been able to successfully do this? If so, how? Any advice would be appreciated.
