SEO Help, its all gone away!

I was riding high in Google then i updated the All in one SEO to version 2, due to problems after a week reverted back to the previous version as my ranking dropped like a stone and titles were being moved all over and my easy affair with search rankings came to an abrupt end.
I seem to be in a bit of downward spin that i cant seem to stop, can anyone help point me in the right direction to ‘Straighten up and fly right’ Older posts still rank well in google but new posts that onece went straight to the front search page are now relegated to page 17. I need direction, please help.
