Hi,
I used to have search engines turned off while building my website. Few days ago, I decided that the website is finished and I turned them on... however, Google still doesn't see my page.
I copied a sentence from a blog post which I posted a week ago, and I pasted it to Google, but it doesn't find any results. I installed Google Analytics and this works fine (with 0 results from search engines, of course).
Any ideas?
install a sitemap. then wait.
google does NOT index fast.
good contents, good SEO and a good sitemap can help you.. but no guarantee

Thanks. With my wordpress.com blog it seemed faster so I thought that I missed something during configuration, or things like that.

how do i setup a sitemap?
Also start a Google Webmaster Tools account and submit your site and sitemap.
And change the crawl rate within Webmaster Tools, which is under Site Configurations/Settings. Along WITH good content, valid site code and incoming links, setting the Google's crawl rate quicker than default will usually tell Google to get to your site faster.

Thanks a lot! Sitemap generated and submitted, Google says that it works without errors. I hope that it will have some results soon.

@ All
wordpress ping is so effective that even without a sitemap you site gets indexed...
I was just testing a free webhost with a .co.cc free domain importing dummy content even that address got indexed..

It still crawls to the domain name + /wordpress at the end, and then finds errors (as files are deleted in this folder). And also it says that the gallery page is restricted by robots.txt. Can it affect indexing the more important pages?
