   Hi there for all of you.
   My issue, for wich im asking some help, is:
   Ihave wp 2.9.2 installed, i have pingbascks and trackbacks enabled, i have the xml-rpc protocol enabled, and also the curl library enabled on the host. But !
   I receive pings and trackbacks.I can send trackbacks BUT I CANNOT SEND PINGS.
   I've been trying to send ping to a couple of other sites and nothing.It doesnt appear nothing also in the db at the "pinged" or "to ping" table.
   And one more thing : When i run a manual pingback using http://www.solitude.dk/ping/client.php i get the next error:
   Error. The server said: The source URL does not contain a link to the target URL, and so cannot be used as a source. (17)
   Though the link is present in my post.Checked and double checked.
   Here is my test post.

   Any advice would be more than appreciate, cause i dont't know what is the issue

   Also testing a post with http://redalt.com/ping givs the following error :
   Error.
   Fault code: 0 : The source URL and the target URL cannot both point to the same resource.
   Yet againg the links can't be the same.

   But the wierdly thing is that if i ping a page with Redalt the message is "Succesfully pinged"

   After digging some more i have one question
   Can i send pings if i have allow_url_fopen=off ??!!

   Pls a little help

   Hi,

   did you find a solution? I have a similar problem with my custom blog engine when trying to ping a wordpress.com hosted blog.
