    Hey fellas,

Love the plugin - it seems to be working flawlessly so far. I'm using it to set posts to 'trash' after 'x' amount of days.

Just a quick question. I have a custom function in my functions.php to fire off an email to a post author when their post is set as 'trash'. See here: http://pastebin.com/hTZ9GJB2

Now, this function of mine works fine if I manually set a post as trash, but is there any way it can work when your plugin sets a post as trash?

    Thanks for any help!

    Hiy Jay,

I'm glad it finally looks like it's stable :).

Thanks for the code. I was digging around the wordpress core a bit, and it seems doable. I have no ETA on this though, but will try to do this in the next 2 weeks. It's a matter of changing stuff and testing stuff, but it should not be that much of a problem. It's just finding the time to do it.

    Hey Gabor,

Thanks for the reply. I understand that you're currently preoccupied travelling and such - not to mention other projects, but any updates on this?

Are there any quick (read: easy!) changes I could make myself to my function above that could remedy the issue? i.e. hook into something other than "wp_trash_post" for example?

    Thanks, Jay

    Hiya,

I've solved it. Need to test stuff though for duplicate stuff. I shall upload 1.6.7 in the next two hours, internet permitting.

Actually, I do not have the files on this computer. Sorry. I will do it tomorrow morning as soon as I get in.

You will get your messages once they are expired.

    Hey Gabor,

Hope you had a great Christmas. I've tested out the updated plugin, and I have the following to report:

If a post expires using the default expiration time as set within the plugin settings, then my email function is fired and it works perfectly. Great!

However, if an alternative expiration date is manually set on the Post creation page, and that expiration time is reached, my email function does not initiate.

Hope this makes sense. Can this be rectified at all?

    Thanks,
    Jay

    Hi Jay,

It was okay, as far as Xmases go. Yours was hopefully better. :) Anyhow, I'll take a look at it tomorrow. Possibly, I have ideas, but right now my mind is set on learning MongoDB and nodejs, and I'd need to spin up my cortex to deal with php. :)

I'll give you an update tomorrow. Thanks for testing and reporting it! Much appreciated!

    Hi Jay,

Happy New Year! 1.6.8 should be up, and manual expirations should now fire as well. It was what I thought it was, fix took 20sec. Thanks! :)

    Hi Gabor,

Perfect! Finally got around to trying this out and all seems good :)

Can't thank you enough for your help, you're a lifesaver. I'll mark this as resolved.

Thanks again, and all the best.
    Jay
