I have been using wordpress to design websites for local business for about a year and now wish to expand a little on an idea i had.

To get information regarding my wedding to different people from around the country i put together a simple page http://www.knoppys.co.uk/wedding. It gives people the venue information and directions to my wedding.

I would like to begin pushing this as a product to my local market. I would like to know if it is possible using wordpress to build a page where customers can come, sign up, select a theme from my own pre made themes, with the relevent plugins already installed (NextGEN and Google Maps)

    Any ideas would be great.

With some additional plugins. It would be something like wp.com.

Ok. so ive got the mutlisite setup on my root now. Configured and ready to go.

After reading through some documentation and watching some good youtube tutorials, i intent to use the multisite option, then when new users register, they can now setup their own wordpress "Wedsite".

    1) How can i sell "users" on my website
    2) Can i set new users sites to come with a predefined set of plugins. Theses to include "themes.dir" / nextgen gallery plugin / MapPress

2 Is easy, with the network admin you can make themes and plugins available for the entire network or even force activation. For 1 you'd have to find a plugin or someone who had experience with this.

    Moved to MultiSite.

    1) You need a plugin to handle that.

    2) MultiSite does that automatically. Any plugin installed will show up as available for use on all sites, unless it's Network Activated (in which case, it'll just be installed and activated on all sites).
