self hosting access issues
-
I’ve been playing around with learning about hosting a wordpress site on a server at my house. I have a domain registered with godaddy http://yousuckatdoingstuff.com which redirects to my dynamic IP address. The server is running Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 with apache, php, and mysql. I installed wordpress with everything set to localhost and found wordpress worked great on my LAN but externally it was crap (text only). So I deleted the install and started from scratch and installed wordpress pointing to my registered domain. It appeared to work fine except when trying to log in with valid credentials it just kicks me back to the login prompt.
Also, I’m not sure if its related but all the links to the admin page point to my dynamic IP address rather than my domain name. ie. The login link points to http://75.48.121.99/wp-login.php rather than http://yousuckatdoingstuff.com/wp-login.php. So even if it was working it would break as soon as my ip address changes?
