• After download and installation as self-hosted WordPress blog, we installed additional plugins to customize further.

JetPack adds functionalities as hosted WordPress blogs include ‘Automattic:ally’. To make this plugin fully work it is necessary to register with WordPress.com — and there I made a mistake: instead of just registering and not getting an additional blog, without knowing better, an additional blog has been set up.

Now, there is a blog online with the same person’s name as the self-hosted is meant to be for.

Any chance, any advice how to delete or close the hosted version without loosing the registered user name ‘raphaelfaramelli’?

Thanks for your time and support!

  • You’d need to contact support at wordpress.com about this.

I wouldn’t worry about the .com blog, honestly. It can just sit there, inert, and having it tied to the self-hosted person’s own account is a good thing.

@ esmi: Thanks. Message sent. Will keep you updated on process or success.

@ Ipstenu: It’s just confusing if there are two blogs online with the same ‘user reference’. Will have to find an adjustment for my mistake. Anyway, thanks for your comment. Cheers.
