Selection of related products

    On a single product page under the tabs the related products are shown. Selection is based on the set of product with one similar tag or category (see function get_related in abstract-wc-product.php in woocommerce/classes/abstracts). So every product with a slight similarity could be shown here.

    Wouldn’t it be more appropriate that the products with all tags and all categories are shown here?

    Is it possible to change this in a future release?

    Well it really depends on the store. It’s this way by default to cater for smaller stores.

    You can always filter woocommerce_product_related_posts to change this.

    OK, I can understand this. But I would like to have a smaller set of related products.

    Could you give me some insight in how to do this?

    A general approach for smaller and larger shops is to add some sort of “similarity rate” to order the related projects.
