   I'm wondering if it would be possible to "merge" Custom Post Types and regular Posts? A client of mine wants to remove the idea of a "blog" on their website and already has the Custom Post Types in place (about 6-7 of them). They're looking to just be able to go into one POST screen and be able to select any of the Custom Post Types available.

   To explain it would be like going into "Posts -> Add New" and selecting a "Category" when posting.

   Is there a way to replace the standard "Category" tags with the Custom Post Type? Where each Post Type (listed on the sidebar of the dashboard) will still be individually archived/available to them for edits/updates?

   Or would the better route be to remove the UI plugin all together, tell them tough luck, and just place them solely on Categories as the alternative?

   Any help would be greatly appreciated.

   This is completely possible but would take quite a bit of custom code.

   Your best bet is to probably still with categories. Honestly the cost to code it how they want it exactly probably wouldn't be worth it

   I think I've managed to convince the client to lean that way anyway.

   It would just be the matter of changing the post_type in the Database, right? There's about a thousand articles, it would be a pain to delete/readd them all.

   Is there a second section on the table that would require being changed over, or would changing it from post_type Hints to post_type Post do the trick?

   I am interested in this, but I'm not sure how she did it. I would think your plug in would be Better if It was like she suggested
