doesn’t look like my web server is using php anymore for some reason, directions on how to get it workign again would be nice. I reloaded the server and same thing happens, the blank screen. Even my test php doesnt come up anymore

is there a way we could do this through email instead of on here

    did you run upgrade.php?

Every case so far of blank screen after upgrade has been either a failed file upload, or a server file not being deleted before a new one is uploaded.

I would delete all folders and reup, I ran into something similiar to this, I spent all kinds of time with chmod and it was something freaky with one folder. Whether you are using default or classic that is where I would start.

Actually all I had to do was wait five minutes and then reload the page. Try that. 🙂

I got a permission denied in wp-admin/upgrade.php. 403 forbidden error

    Scotto.

Did you deactivate your old plugins before upgrading?
Did you delete all files according to the discription in the codex?
Have you checked all files and folders permissions?
Is there maybe an old/weird version of .htaccess in your wp directory?

I deactivated plugins, deleted word for word
what permissions should i give the files and folders?
I can’t see the .htaccess in wp-directory but how do you see if it is hidden in a linux box?

    (@scotto15)

No there isnt a .htaccess in my directory

No there isnt a .htaccess in my directory

The normal WP directory has 755 – all subdirectories as well
    The normal *.php files 644

Are you using FTP to connect to your server? If so check in your FTP client the option ‘show hidden files’ – most clients offer that function.

now i just get the blank screen, and when i look at the source code it doesn’t show much of anything

The php files are empty? Then your uploads/ftp-client0 is not working properly.

Are you reading/looking into the php source directly ON the server?
