• I don’t know much about server things – so I have this question:
The file “wp-config.php” has my mysql database password in pure text. Isn’t it possible for bad guys to download this file and to manipulate my sql database?

  • Nope..

The server reads that file, not the browser. It’s very secure, and with over 25,000 wordpress blogs using this method, not to mention many many other apps that work in a smiliar way, be assured it’s very safe.
The weakest point of your – and everyone’s blog – is your password.
