   I am trying to secure my blog. I want to do all I can to keep out spammers, malware and other forms of bad behavior.

   I want to know what are the best plugins to secure my blog and keep it safe both for it's sake and the sakes of my users.

   by the way I am using 3.0.1 (currently the newest version of WP)

   I prefer not to place my blog's core security in the hands of third-party plugins. Instead, I just stick to the recommended security measures.

   As for anti-spam measures, try Akismet (included with WordPress) and Bad Behavior:
