When it comes to your wordpress site what do you really need for security? I know you need to have some sort of security but I have had issues with using a couple of the more popular security plugins out on the market. It seems almost as if you can have too much security, if that is possible? I am looking for any suggestions for a very basic security plugin that will cover the basics of what you need.

    I began here:

After that, I looked at a variety of security plugins and tried a few, then eventually landed on BulletProof Security for its ability to produce strong htaccess files throughout my entire installation. In my own opinion, you need at least that and its suggested file permissions...and where I use Wordfence Security for its firewall and to do file scans alongside BPS, I have heard All In One WP Security & Firewall can do at least much of that on its own. However you approach the matter of additional security, monitor your actual hits for a while and you will likely see how much you either do or do not need.
