[resolved] Security logfile size: manually backup-delete is tedious (5 posts)

    I'm using the free version of BPS security. And every second day, I'm getting this error message on my wordpress dashboard

    Security Log File Size: 510.79 KB
    Your Security Log file is very large which will cause the BPS Options page to load much slower.
    Copy and paste the Security Log file contents into a Notepad text file on your computer and save it.
    Then click the Delete Log button to delete the contents of this Log file.

    Manually doing this "backup and delete" exercise is getting tedious.
    And two days back I was banned from shared hosting for excessive CPU/PHP Usage (perhaps because of this excessively huge log file)
    anyways, I request the plugin owner to allow some sort of settings that either disables the logging or automatically zips the contents.
    if I understand this correctly, in the BPS Pro version you've given feature of zipping and emailing such file.
    I would love to buy the "pro" version if it was something like 5 or 10 dollars plugin. But it's almost $60, that's way beyond the spending capacity of most of the Indian bloggers like me.
    So, that's another suggestion/request, please bring down the price according to countries and many people like me would gladly buy the pro plugin.

    What this is telling you is that you have an existing problem on your website that you need to fix. Or you have another plugin or theme installed that is causing a conflict with the new BPS ErrorDocument .htaccess code in your root .htaccess file that is causing looping. You should not have to be deleting your Log file this frequently.     The BPS Pro price is very fair and very cheap. BPS Pro took 3 years to research, develop and create, it is a one time cost, free technical support, free upgrades for life, unlimited installations, ongoing new development, new features, etc etc etc. Actually the price was increased recently by $10 because we were not covering all of our expenses anymore.

    To Fix this issue Click Here to go to the Security Log page and copy and paste the Security Log file contents into a Notepad text file on your computer and save it.

    they delete it I' using a free BPS maybe this is the reason ?

    very good Plugin I have nothing to say about , but regard to the service hmmmm

    Sorry for the previous post , I fix it using your support, so Thank you for that and I really sorry if I made mistake

    Now I just need to know what i should do with the log file the I deleted ?

    You actually do not need to keep log files and can just delete them. We keep our log files so that we can check them for any new types of hacking patterns/methods/attempts, etc.
