   Is there a mailing list that will notify me about important security updates to WordPress and the plugins?

   I know the WordPress dashboard displays available updates when we log in, but I might not see them very regularly. And I won't need to install all the updates as soon as they're available, just the important security ones.

   You could subscribe to the WordPress Announcements list (you can do this via your forum Profile). Or you could try subscribing to http://wordpress.org/news/category/security/
