Secure login fails because of wrong cookie URL
-
Hi,
my hoster offers SSL served from a shared subdomain. My setup looks like this:
Regular access: http:/user.domain.tld/blog/
Secure access: https://server.domain.tld/~user+somesuffix/blog/Problem: The login fails (could-not-set-cookie-error) because the cookie URLs are set to “/” and “/blog/” (test and session cookie as seen in my browsers cookie manager). The prefix “/~user+somesuffix” is missing. Apparently does WordPress HTTPS not modify the cookie URLs.
Configuration:
SSL Host: server.domain.tld/~user+somesuffix/
WordPress URL (both ones): http:/user.domain.tld/blog/I also get a 404 error if i visit https://server.domain.tld/~user+somesuffix/blog/ telling me it tried to query https://server.domain.tld/blog/~user+somesuffix/blog/index.php – Which is clearly wrong. However, i don’t care much about this issue because i only want to secure the admin panel.
Configuration issue or bug?
Regards,
Markus
